Continued from the previous post

The man's past was playing a major role in his present.
His past:
When he was doing his engineering in Bangalore, their hostel or the place where he stayed was at a km or so distance from his college. Everyday when going to college he used to pass through 2-3 huge palatial buildings. In one of those buildings stayed a beautiful girl. He used to see her in the garden everyday. Even she used to mark him. They started liking each other and even started meeting in some restaurant nearby. Both of them liked and appreciated each other equally. But this guy feared that the girls family would never like it, because he was from a poor family, and again wondered if even this girl can accept the kind of lifestyle he would offer her.

One day he said all this to her and for some reasons even told her that they should stop seeing each other. This girl told him that if he liked her then he would tell her this in 7 days else she would kill herself and went away. The guy felt she cant be serious, why would she do so. Seven days passed away, he didnt contact her, one of the reasons being that he was very busy all those 7 days because of exams.

Then whenever he passed by her house he would stand in front of the house for few minutes and wish he could just get to see her once. He tried to contact her, but could not. Then he went to that restaurant where the girl usualy went with her friends. They told him that she had not been to that place for the last 10 days or so. He couldnt stop himself and went to her place and got to know that she was dead.

They told her she had killed herself. They told him the date(exactly when 7 days were over) and that it was even out in the newspaper. Her body was recovered by people near some river(I dont remember the name of the river or where it was). The girl used to wear yellow sarees when they met. This guy was feeling guilty all his life, felt he was responsible for her death. Thats why he used to see yellow waves(the colour of the saree the girl used to wear).

With few sessions with the psychologists his condition improved. He became more consistent in his work, and the frequency of seeing yellow waves drastically reduced. With more and more sessions and his own interest to come out of the problem, he almost completely changed himself, his approach, his attitude. Now he is a consistent, hardworking, tallented man and he and his wife are leading a normal life somewhere in Bangalore.
